What is TPxD?
Technical Product Experience Design (TPxD) is a design team working on enterprise tools within the Nike ecosystem to empower Nike employees with forward-thinking and well-crafted internal-facing capabilities that will ultimately help them better serve our consumers.
Part of the TPxD team involves an In-Season planning team that I was a part of. In-season assortment planning allows planners to analyze their plans best for market demand and trends, which ultimately has a huge impact on Nike for managing risks and capitalizing on opportunities.

Onboarding Experience
Focus of Project
Focus: Create an onboarding experience for Nike's in-season planners.
The impact was reducing onboarding pain points which would improve the adoption of new tools. This project also helps Nike shift from a manual and one-off onboarding and training approach to something more systematic and evergreen.

Reflection
Learnings
This Nike internship experience was an amazing experience to be a part of and I felt so much growth as a designer in these 9 weeks. I worked with some amazing designers and learned so much about their perspectives on the design process. Specifically, I learned about fast iterations during the ideation process. By quickly putting out different ideas, iterating on them, and moving on to new designs it helps to see several possible solutions. From these various solutions, components can be taken from each one and brought to the finalized solution, which was my experience in this case and was very thrilling to experience. Also, working on an internal tool, I could contact Nike employees who would be using my design. I learned that in my research, I needed to bring questions that could only be validated by our end-users rather than anyone on my team. This was a big learning point for me where I really honed in on research and it eventually led to insightful sessions that helped me understand what to focus on in my designs.
If I had more time...
I would have done some testing with the hi-fi design I arrived at as well as talked with engineering and business more on the implementation. To start off with testing, I would have liked to test more and make any iterations to the design based on the feedback. As to cross-function communication, I would have liked to talk more with the Technical Product Manager, to get their thoughts on the implementation of the design.
